Shona E. Monge [Founder/Sr. Publicist]
Shona Eladia Monge grew up with music and entertainment all around her, her late mother was an RnB singer and her brother “RC” has a long history in music as a singer-songwriter.
At 19-years-old, Shona was bitten by the entertainment bug when she booked Rapper and Actress Yolanda “Yo-Yo” Whitaker to be a judge at a local talent show. From the success of this event, Monge was able to build relationships with established and up-and-coming artist with their talent booking and talent management needs.
She was introduced to events when her clients were in need of assistance for weddings, birthday parties, releases, industry mixers and eventually developed a knack for Event Coordination. This new found skill came naturally to her with her regular duties of juggling the careers of her clients. Shona now became a go-to for coordinating record release parties, Grammy parties, premieres, screenings, red carpet events, corporate events for companies like True Religion Jeans as well as celebrity-attended parties. These accomplishments motivated her to start Events by Eladia in 2006 officially.
Shona has coordinate and produced events in the Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta, and New York with artists and entertainers like Grammy Nominated artist Heavy D, the former NBA Championship-winning Power forward/Center John Salley, Comedian Tiffany Haddish and the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend Event featuring Rick Ross in Los Angeles just to name a few.
With events comes marketing, and with marketing comes promotions. While wearing and or overseeing all of these components while coordinating events Shona eventually incorporated publicity as one of her skill sets. To further her career, she began to take courses in Public Relations, Crisis Management, and Marketing and transitioned her company in 2007 from Events by Eladia into The MV7 Group; which is now a full Public Relations & Special Events Boutique.
Shona’s experience has taken her to various heights, from creating and planning events, concerts, fundraisers to creating successful marketing strategies and PR campaigns for many brands and celebrities.
In addition to her work as a Publicist and Event Coordinator for her clients, Shona serves as the Publicist and Board Member for the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment (NABFEME) Los Angeles Chapter. This nationally and internationally recognized organization founded by entertainment executive Johnnie Walker strives to provide a platform for women in the industry to network and raise their profile to increase awareness of women of color in music and entertainment.
Although, Shona has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. She continues to reinvent The MV7 Group to always stay aligned with the fast-paced always changing industry. Just wait to see what's up next!!!
